Finally an update!
First and foremost for those of you who haven't seen it yet,
check the post below for my first preggo picture
and check the one before that for a strew of comics.Interesting News Article:
It's okay Bill.Work: We have finally got more work in and are doing full shifts. I have not been hiring the last 2 or 3 weeks. I got to update some of my training materials and I am also training 2 back ups for whe I am on materity leave. I have been working on several "crafty" projects and it suits me well. I have also had ample opportunity to work closely with Christine the manager and I have decided I love her (in a strictly heterosexual, work appropriate way.) We start hiring again next week and I am looking forward to it. i am also hoping my pay raise will be on this check.
School:
- Field Experience: I love spending time in my classroom; it totally jazzes me up for the rest of the day. I will be able to make my 20 hours no problem. I love the kids and my mentor teacher. (She totally bought me lunch! Awesome.) The other day when working on prefixes, I worked kind of exclusively with a couple of individual students that I saw struggling and afterwards she pointed out that each of the students that I had choosen to work with were her special needs students. I felt stoked. Funny story 2 different kids in 2 different classes asked me this week if I was still pregnant. It made me laugh. Also I went to the restroom and as I was coming back I overheard one of the more ramboncious students asking "Where is Ms. G? is she gone because she had her baby?" It made me feel like I am an important part of that classroom. I liked it."
- Classroom Assessment: I am starting to really appreciate this class more. Joey Sharman is in this class with me and him and his buddys antics crack me up. Additionally, it is a class that requires less effort and homework for me. In our last class our teacher refered us to this website and I found it really interesting. I suggest you all check it out. It gives you some eye opening insight as to how you relate to other round you on a conicous and unconcious level.

I took the light verse dark-skinned test and found out that I have a moderate preference for lighter skinned people. I took the sexuality test and found of that I have little or no preference between straight and gay people. I took the weight one and found that I have a slight prefence for fat people. I took the Asian one and found out that I have a moderate preference for people of European desent. I also took the presedient one and found out that me and a lot of other people hate George W. Bush. It was neat. I had a discussion with this professor about religion after class on Wednesday. It was pretty stimuating. - Math for Elementary Teachers: Best class ever. Try this puzzle she gave us (I have slightly modified it.) You have 3 girls and 3 guys on the one side of the river. You must get all 6 people to the other side of the river. You have a boat that can hold at most 2 people and when the boat crosses the river there must always be a least one person in it to steer. At any given time if there are more guys than girls on one side of the river, the guys will rape the girls. This includes when dropping some one off on the oppisite bank of the river, and must be avoided. How do you get all 6 people across without any rape occuring?
- Educational Technology: There was a minor disastor with our digital story telling project. The day it was due we went to finalize it and our footage was corrupted and wouldn't play. I had a back up on my flash drive but my flash drive has gone missing. We had the video tape for back up but the video tape has gone missing. Poor Casey and I were freaking out. Thank the powers that be our teacher is a human being and gave us spring break to locate or reshoot the video footage.
- Classroom Management: Ack! Enough said.
Family: I love my mom. She is the most wonderful, dedicated, hardworking person it the whole wide world. She makes me want to be a better person. I am really pissed off at my brother. I am tried of him calling me names. I am not going to continue to put up with it.
Babyshower: We played a lot of really fun games. I think most people who came enjoyed it. We discovered that Robby is the fast diaper changer and Rachael can really suck.I got some things I really needed for the baby. I was glad because I have alread got out most of the thank you cards. Here's a few pics. More will come later.
Social Life: is nonexistent. I am just too busy with everything else.BABY AND ME AT 35 WEEKS!
How he is growing:
At 35 weeks, he is approximately 19-20 inches in length head to toe. He weighed approximately 5 1/4 pounds lbs, which is like pick up a honeydew melon.
This week his kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.
How my life is going: My uterus — which was entirely tucked away inside my pelvis when you conceived — now reaches up under my rib cage. If you could peek inside, you'd see that there's more baby than amniotic fluid in there now. My ballooning uterus is crowding my other internal organs, too, which is why I have to urinate every 5 minutes and get occasional light heartburn. I am one of the lucky few that I don't feel like complete crap. I registered for the hospital and took a tour. Mom and I will be attending a crash course birthing class. From here on out, Ill be seeing Donna, my doctor every Friday. We are getting down to the wire with only 31 days left. I am worried and excited all in one.
